Here's an image of a cube magnet pole positioned under a 62mm Ferrocell. The cell is mounted into a strip LED ring: The light doesn't go over the pole, but bends around like its being deflected or reflected. I relate this feature to the way a black hole 'doesn't emit light'. Maybe the light is bending around it- like this magnet experiment.

Magic......fyi Ken Wheeler has just posted on utube under "Deepest secrets of magnetism" a "black hole effect" at the dilectric plane,then he reverses poles to show the reverse effect,ie a ring of light !
