RE: "51mmx2mm Medium Ferrocell"
Is there a side view diagram of ferrocell with correct light position, or light plane?
I happened to try a mini-string of decorative string lights taped to edge of ferrocell. This does not seem to work.
Are LEDs with magnifier lenses needed?
I am trying to minimize the space required by light source, so that it will fit in small space.
Thanks for any insights.

Yes, there is a thread here on the forum: ferrocell.freeforums.net/thread/24/ring-lighting-tipsYou must shield your eyes (or camera) from ambient light. The best and clearest images are seen in a totally dark room with the LEDs below the cell about 10mm (1/2") max distance. I haven't tried LEDs with magnifier lenses. Has anyone else that could comment here? FYI: A small florescent lamp ring will work, but you do not see ellipses. It creates a diffused image similar to a 'donut' or torus. Place it below the cell (like the LEDs). Use one small enough that the cell is larger than it is.
