Hello,
I made this pictures with all the same setup up with the magnets under the ferrocell (just things under there to level it all)
The magnets i used were 12mm by 6mm N42 neodymium disc magnets (poles on the sides not top-bottom) placed in a pentagon shape under the middle of the cell. Than i "played" with the laser at the edge of the cell. Moving the laser trough the middle gives a image as in picture 1-2 by Tim, but if you play a little withe the angle (where it crosses the magnets) u get another beam! (as displayed in the video). The one with the lighting up thingies, is just dust ( i think) but i like how we get a "bigger point" of light above the magnet!
